How to enable cookies for Scour.com
Problem:
Running a search in Scour immediately logs out the user.
Possible Cause of Problem:
Cookies are not properly enabled for scour.com.
Problem Experience:
- Open your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Safari, etc)
- Go to www.scour.com
- Log in
- Type something in the search box and hit Enter
- You will be logged out
- This happens every time you log in and run a search
 
Problem solution:
Select your browser for instructions.
 
I use Internet Explorer:
- In the menu bar at the top, click 'Tools'
- Select 'Internet Options'
Using Internet Explorer 5 (and 6), the 'Tools' menu is located on the top left:
On Internet Explorer 7 (and 8), you'll find the 'Tools' menu on the top right:
- Select the 'Security' tab
- Select the 'Trusted Sites' icon (check-mark in green circle)
- Click the 'Sites' button
- Near the bottom of this window, un-check the box that says 'Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone'
- Under "Add this Web site to the zone", type scour.com
- Click the Add button
- Click OK
- Click OK in the main Options window
I use Firefox:
- In the menu bar at the top, click 'Tools'
- Select 'Options'
- Select the 'Privacy' tab
- Check 'Accept cookies from sites'
- Under 'Keep Until:' select 'they expire'
- Click the 'Exceptions' button
- Under 'Address of Web Site:' type scour.com
- Click Enable
- Click Close
- Click OK in the main Options window
I use Opera:
- Go to www.scour.com
- Right click anywhere on the left side of the screen, in the big blank white space
- Select 'Edit Site Preferences...'
- Select the 'Cookies' tab
- Select 'Accept Cookies'
- Make sure that the box for 'Delete new cookies when exiting Opera' is not checked
- Click OK
I use Safari:
- In the menu bar at the top, open the Tools menu (the picture of a gear)
- Select 'Preferences'
- Select the 'Security' tab
- Under 'Accept Cookies:', select 'Only from sites I visit' (the 'Always' option is OK too)
- Close the Preferences window
